¿Qué es el Manu?

En la mitología Hinduista, Manu es el nombre del primer ser humano, el primer rey que reinó sobre la Tierra y que fue salvado del diluvio universal.
El Parque Nacional del Manu, es un espacio territorial natural protegido por el estado peruano. Creado el 29 de mayo de 1973.
En 1997, la UNESCO reconoce al Parque como reserva de Biosfera y en 1987 lo declara patrimonio natural de la humanidad. Esta localizado en el sudeste del Perú, ubicado en los departamentos de Madre de Dios y Cusco.
Con un territorio de aproximadamente de 1909,800 hectáreas. Que se divide en tres grandes zonas:

  1. Zona Cultural
  2. Zona Reservada
  3. Zona Intangible

Zona Cultural

También llamada Zona de Transición, que tiene un nivel de protección desde 140 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Hasta 4000 metros en la zona alto andina. Está conformada desde Acjanaco, pasando por el bosque de nubes y la rivera del rio Madre de Dios.La zona cultural del Manu, en el sudeste de Perú, es notable por su diversidad biológica y cultural, siendo parte de la Reserva de la Biosfera del Manu. Esta área de transición entre los Andes y la Amazonía alberga comunidades indígenas como los Machiguenga y Yine, quienes mantienen sus tradiciones. También es un refugio para una gran variedad de flora y fauna, atrayendo a biólogos y ecoturistas. La región es un ejemplo de desarrollo sostenible y respeto por el patrimonio natural y cultural.

Zona Reservada

También llamada Zona Núcleo o Amortiguamiento, en esta área están permitidas las actividades turísticas (organizadas por agencias autorizadas) e investigación con un permiso especial. Se encuentran Cocha Salvador, Cocha Otorongo, Cocha Brasco hasta Boca Manu por la rivera del río Manu. El parque Nacional del Manu alberga más de 20,000 especies de plantas, 1025 especies de aves, 7 especies de guacamayos, 14 especies de  monos, 221 especies de mamíferos, monos, jaguar, puma, ocelote, nutrias gigantes, oso de anteojos, tamandúas, armadillos, tapir, capivara, pecari, tortugas Además de 10 especies de reptiles , 150 especies de anfibios,  210 especies pescados, insectos, 307 especies de mariposas y muchas especies endémicas más.

Intangible Zone

Only anthropological and biological research activities are permitted.

This space is crucial for the preservation of pristine ecosystems and endangered species, offering a safe refuge for wildlife and indigenous communities. Reglas de conservación

  1. Pernoctar en el lugar indicado en el programa y permiso.
  2. Visitar solo áreas autorizadas
  3. No interferir en las actividades de los guarda parques e investigadores
  4. No establecer contacto con pobladores nativos y respetar sus costumbres.
  5. No colectar especies de flora y fauna.
  6. No portar armas de fuego.
  7. No ingresar implementos de caza y pesca.
  8. Acatar las disposiciones la jefatura del Parque y su personal de Guarda
    Parques.
  9. Otorgar facilidades al Guarda Parques a las inspecciones que se efectué en
    la embarcación que los transporta.
  10. El Ingreso al Manu Zona Reservada es a partir del Puesto de vigilancia
    Limonal, a la zona de Campamentos Otorongo, Salvador y Casa
    Matshiguenka.
  11. No molestar, ni alimentar a los animales silvestres.
  12. Colocar la basura en los tachos o al salir del área. Llévala contigo.
  13. No destruyas o escribas o rayes los letreros, tachos, u otra infraestructura.
  14. Comunicar a los guarda parque cualquier hecho anormal que observes
    durante tu visita.
