The first day of this exciting trip to Manu begins with an early morning pick-up from participants’ hotels, followed by a bus ride to stunning destinations such as the funerary towers of Ninamarca and the picturesque town of Paucartambo. From there, the ascent to the upper area of Paucartambo and the descent through the mysterious cloud forest offer the opportunity to witness the mating ritual of the Cock-of-the-Rock and spot birds such as Trogons and Quetzals, among other fascinating species. Overnight at Manu Green Lodge. The second day is highlighted by a bus ride to Puerto de Atalaya, followed by an exciting boat ride along the Alto Madre de Dios River for approximately 8 hours. During this journey, participants can enjoy a bath in medicinal hot springs and observe a wide variety of birds and animals, including the majestic presence of the jungle condor and the emblematic jaguar. Arrival at Boca Manu offers a stop for lunch and a chance to stay in comfortable cabins typical of the region. Day three includes a cruise down the mighty Madre de Dios River to the cabin, where the impressive macaw clay lick is located. During the stay, participants can enjoy hikes to explore the nearby trails and birdwatch from a specialized tower. Day four offers the chance to observe the macaw clay licks from a boat, followed by a visit to Lago Blanco to observe otters and turtles from a catamaran. This experience offers a unique view of wildlife in its natural habitat. Finally, day five involves a boat trip to Puerto Colorado, followed by a transfer by vehicle to Puerto Carlo. Passengers have the option of returning to Cusco by bus, with stops at places of interest such as the Ausangate snow-capped mountain, or continuing their journey to Puerto Maldonado to take their flight home.
