The 4-day/3-night Tambopata tour includes: reception in Puerto Maldonado, navigation along the Madre de Dios River to a lodge, visit to Monkey Island, nighttime alligator sighting, jungle walk, and boat ride on Lake Sandoval. The third day includes a tour of the Canopy Walk-Way, a Zip-line adventure, artisanal fishing, and kayaking on the Madre de Dios River. Finally, you return to Puerto Maldonado on the fourth day, with transfers to the airport or bus station.

Itinerary

Reception at the airport or bus terminal and transfer to the Lodge office for the corresponding registrations. Transfer to the port captaincy where we will take the boat for an hour to our lodge – Welcome meeting with a refreshing juice made from fruits from our region. Installation in our respective rooms. After lunch, we will visit the “monkey island”, located in front of our Lodge crossing the Madre de Dios River where we will find different species such as the family of capuchin monkeys and friar monkeys that live on the island and return to the Lodge. At night we will go in search of white alligators that are generally found on sandbanks, in the Madre de Dios River, for which it will be necessary to bring a flashlight. In the evening, we will search for white caimans, which are generally found on the beach in the Madre de Dios River. A flashlight will be necessary for this activity. We may also see the capybara, the largest rodent in the world, which can weigh up to 60 kilos. Return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
After breakfast we will walk 3 km. In the middle of the dense tropical forest, we head towards Lake Sandoval (habitat of piranhas), one of the largest in the Tambopata National Reserve, and we will take a rowboat ride where we will see a great variety of birds and monkeys of different species (shansho, cormorant, jacanas, puma heron, vultures, cotomonkey, friar monkey, black machín, pichicos and sloths). Perhaps we will have an encounter with the giant otter family (almost two meters long) that is in danger of extinction and the largest recorded alligators of more than 4 meters long, return to the Lodge to enjoy the typical lunch. At night we will have a walk where we can appreciate the diversity of species of insects, amphibians, reptiles and other animals with nocturnal habits. – dinner and rest.
5:30 a.m. in the morning we will take a short walk along the Canopy Walk-Way, about 30 meters high, which will allow us to appreciate nature from as high as possible, we will also have a panoramic view of the Madre de Dios River. From the platforms we will observe different species of birds, such as toucans, macaws, tanagers, orioles, it will be a wonderful experience. After breakfast we prepare for a challenging activity on the trees at more than 30 meters high, for this activity we will have an instructor guide who will give us a talk on how to use the safety harness for the Zip-line, feeling the adrenaline when sliding through the trees, return to the Lodge. – Lunch After lunch we can do some artisanal fishing in the Madre de Dios River with a little patience we will see some species of fish such as catfish, palometas, among others. In the afternoon the challenge is to cross the Madre de Dios River by kayak, during which we will be able to appreciate the fascinating sunset. Later after this unforgettable adventure we will go to rest.
Breakfast and return to the city, transfer to the airport and/or. Bus station.

During the 4-day, 3-night Tambopata tour, participants will enjoy a variety of exciting activities. The first day includes a boat ride along the Madre de Dios River, a visit to Monkey Island and a nighttime search for alligators. The second day will be dedicated to exploring Lake Sandoval, where you will take a boat ride to observe birds and monkeys, followed by a night walk. On the third day, you will experience the Canopy Walk-Way at 30 meters high, a Zip-line adventure, artisanal fishing and kayaking at sunset. The tour will conclude on the fourth day with the return to Puerto Maldonado.
